Each spring, MOAAP conducts an Advocacy Day at the Capitol in Jefferson City. In 2018, almost 100 pediatricians, residents, and medical students spent the day meeting with legislators to advocate on behalf of Missouri’s children. This year we focused on educating legislators on the importance of updating Missouri law to require car seats to be rear facing until age 2; the dangers of indoor tanning and why we should ban it for anyone under 18; and why we need to extend postpartum Medicaid coverage for moms with substance abuse problems.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Jefferson City!
