Learn more about Dr. Baumann in her own words:

What has been your proudest moment as a pediatrician?

I loved being a military pediatrician and caring for soldiers’ families. A highlight was being involved in the separation of conjoined twins. They are now in college! Recently, there are lots of interesting cases and diagnoses, but it’s the smiles and hugs from kids that make me happiest.

What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?

Talk to the kids. Listen to parents but focus on the kids, ask them questions, too. Watch interactions, be a good observer.

What is the moment that made you feel like you made the right choice in becoming a pediatric health provider?

Early in my intern year, sitting with oncology kids, playing cards after a work shift. The kids have my heart.

What is your go-to song to get you motivated for the day?
