Each spring, MOAAP conducts an Advocacy Day at the Capitol in Jefferson City. In 2018, almost 100 pediatricians, residents, and medical students spent the day meeting with legislators to advocate on behalf of Missouri’s children.
Our 2019 Advocacy Day is April 11.
This year we will focus on educating legislators on three important child health issues: the importance of updating Missouri law to require car seats to be rear facing until age 2; the dangers of indoor tanning and why we should ban it for anyone under 18; and the importance of vaccinations in protecting public health.
