Learn more about Dr. Myers in her own words:
What has been your proudest moment as a pediatrician?
I fell in love with Infectious Diseases at the beginning of my second year of residency. I would say that my proudest moment is making an unusual or rare diagnosis by coaxing out the history that was elusive to other team members. I love seeing the patient get better after the diagnosis is made and appropriate treatment is started.
What is your vision for your work on the AAP Committee on Infectious Disease?
I am so excited to be a part of the AAP COID and contribute to the next edition of the Red Book! I am also looking forward to learning from COID members and leadership. This committee does a lot and I feel lucky to be a part of it.
What is your go-to song to get you motivated for the day?
Rise Up by Imagine Dragons.
What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?
Say yes to new opportunities, but always consider what you will give up in order to do the new thing.
When you’re not working, how do you enjoy spending your time?
I like to spend time with my family, swim, and travel whenever I can. Also, I always have several books I am reading.
