Jennifer Schuster, MD, MSCI is the Director of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship program at Children’s Mercy and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.

Dr. Schuster completed her pediatrics residency at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and infectious diseases fellowship at Vanderbilt University where she studied the epidemiology of and novel therapeutics against respiratory viruses. She also completed a Master’s of Science in Clinical Investigation during her fellowship. In 2014, she joined the pediatric infectious diseases division at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Her current research interests include understanding the epidemiology and outcomes of viral respiratory tract infections in immune competent and immunocompromised children. Her interests also include optimizing immunization recommendations for immunocompromised children and understanding surrogates for immunity in this population. Lastly, she is interested in developing new vaccines and therapeutics for pediatric infectious diseases, including respiratory infections and Kawasaki disease.
